On Friday 22nd November, Miss Evans and Mrs Brindley took 8 teams of Year 3-6 children to the Stansted Archery Competition at Henham Primary School.
It was a great afternoon and all teams did brilliantly.
One of our Year 6 teams (Riley, Sam M, Ornela & Pia) finished in 2nd place with silver medals and has now qualified for the next round in April 2020.
Well done to everyone who took part.
A team of 9 Year 5 & 6 children attended the Stansted Tag Rugby Tournament at Howe Green on Wednesday morning. The team played five matches – one 1, drew 2 and lost 2 – resulting in them coming 4th overall.
Manuden was the smallest participating school and can be very pleased with their achievements. We were also presented with our Gold Sport’s School Games Award.
KS2 Cross Country Report
On Wednesday 16th October KS2 went to a Cross Country Tournament. Year 5 and 6 ran 1700 meters and years 3 and 4 ran 1200 meters. Everyone cheered all the runners on. The year 6 team: Charlotte, Pia, Sophie and Emily, the year 5 team: Taliesin, Max, Mac and Isaac and individual runners: Riley, Evie and Harry all got through to the next stage.
Well done everyone.
On Thursday, our Football team played their second match of the season against Newport.
It was a very tight game with most of the goals being scored in the last 10 minutes of the second half!
The final score was 8-1 to Newport
On Monday, our Netball team played the first match of the season at Little Hallingbury.
Considering they haven’t had a court to practice on and that the team had never played together before, they did incredibly well. Riley scored two excellent goals and Harry was named Player of the Match.
The final score was 8-2 to Little Hallingbury.
The team are looking forward to their two matches next week.
Our Football Team played their first match of the season last night against Henham.
Considering they had never played together as a team (and some players had never played before), they all played extremely well and had lots of fun.
The after match tea proved particularly popular and many thanks go to the parents who contributed food and helped last night.
Final score was Manuden 0 – Henham 14
Earlier this week, our four Y6 Sports Ambassadors attended a training session at St Mary’s Stansted where they learned how to set up and organise a tournament and then took part themselves in skipping and catching competitions. They all took part enthusiastically and had a great morning.
Many thanks to Mr Grindal for taking them to this event.
